The island spans an area of 4.708 square kilometers and is approximately 15 kilometers away from Phuket. The island is part of the Racha archipelago, which also includes Racha Noi Island. Racha Island is famous for its beautiful white sandy beaches and tranquil atmosphere. It is also well-known for its shallow coral reefs, making it a popular spot for snorkeling. The island has several beaches, with the western beach being the longest and most frequented by tourists. The journey to Racha Island from Chalong Bay in Phuket takes about 2 hours by longtail boat and approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour by speedboat. The island is home to a few local residents and has several resorts and restaurants to cater to tourists.
